Sue Harrington

Soprano Seunghyun Lee Harrington was born in Seoul, South Korea. She has performed in Korea, Europe, and the United States. In 1997 she received a full scholarship to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Ms. Harrington was awarded her Artist Diploma in Opera in 1999. While in Cincinnati she performed in the chorus with the Cincinnati Opera Company. Operas given were Jenufa, Tosca, Samson & Dalila, and La Traviata.

In April 2002, while visiting friends in North Carolina, Ms. Harrington was called upon to sing Violetta in two dress rehearsals because of the illness of the soprano who was engaged. Ms. Harrington had auditioned for the company previously and they realized she was quite capable.

Ms. Harrington has been featured on ARIRANG TV, EBSTV, and KBSTV in Korea. Her CD, released in 2003, was recorded in a recital performance with the Vratza Symphony Orchestra in Bulgaria.

Master classes have been with Nicholas Muni, Jonathan Eaton, and Malcolm Fraser in the USA. Teachers include Mary Henderson Stucky, Dale Moore, and Thomas Paul. Coaches are Russell Miller, Arlene Shrutt and Ted Taylor. Directors include Malcolm Fraser, Jose Maria Condemi, Kelly Hale, and Nicholas Muni. Her acting teacher was Diane Kvapil and she studied period dance with Richard Powers.
